CNN politics | These states could legalize marijuana this November

(CNN) – Four more states could choose to legalize recreational marijuana through ballot measures this Election Day.

Voters in Republican-led Arizona and South Dakota and Democrat-led Montana and New Jersey will consider proposals to legalize recreational marijuana. Another red state, Mississippi, is weighing a pair of ballot questions to legalize medical marijuana. Currently, 11 states have legalized full, adult marijuana use. All but two did so by ballot initiative, which poses the question directly to voters.

Carole Catherine founded the “Wives of the Deplorables” Facebook group after finding out her husband voted for Donald Trump.

(CNN) – Carole Catherine did not know her husband, Tim, supported Donald Trump until the day after Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 election. She called him the next morning crying.

“And he was like, ‘Yeah, of course she lost. She is an awful human being,’ ” she said.

“It was like a light went off for me. And I thought, ‘Oh boy, we’re going to have trouble.’ ”

For the next three years, Catherine felt like she was living an alternate reality. Her husband was her high school sweetheart. A rekindled love after a first marriage, children and divorce. CNN | Girlfriend’s account of Waukegan officer killing Marcellis Stinnette varies greatly from police narrative

(CNN) – The girlfriend of Marcellis Stinnette, who survived the shooting that killed the 19-year-old in Waukegan, Illinois, last week, told reporters Tuesday the police harassed her and Stinnette before opening fire without warning after she drove away.

Following the shooting, she said, police took her away and threw a blanket over Stinnette while he was still breathing.

“I know he was still alive,” the 20-year-old mother of two said. She and Stinnette have a 7-month-old son together.  —read more—

Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton has become the most successful driver in terms of victories in Formula 1 history, after a dominant display at the Portuguese Grand Prix saw him claim his 92nd victory from team mate Valtteri Bottas and the Red Bull of Max Verstappen.

Having started from pole position, Hamilton’s victory looked in serious doubt after a dramatic opening lap that saw him get passed by both Bottas and the McLaren of Carlos Sainz – Sainz then taking the lead from Bottas a lap later, as the Mercedes pair struggled to get their medium tyres fired up.  —read more—

CNN | Bubba Wallace’s new NASCAR team reveals Michael Jordan inspired team name, number and logo

(CNN) – NASCAR racer Bubba Wallace will be sporting a new number and car while racing with a new team in 2021.

Wallace will be racing with the number 23 for the newly-formed racing team owned by former NBA superstar Michael Jordan and racer Denny Hamlin.

The team was named 23XI Racing — pronounced twenty-three eleven — in reference to the jersey number Jordan wore while playing in the NBA and the number 11 car that Hamlin has raced with for the past 14 seasons.  —read more—
