Emmys host Nate Bargatze thinks he’s finally figured out a way to keep acceptance speeches short | CNN entertainment

CNN entertainment | Emmys host Nate Bargatze thinks he’s finally figured out a way to keep acceptance speeches short

Every comedian brings a different flavor to hosting an award show: Jimmy Kimmel put politics front and center at the Oscars, while Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser wasn’t afraid to get a little raunchy… and both handed out barbs to various famous attendees.

But Nate Bargatze – who will host the Emmys for the first time this Sunday – prefers to keep things clean.

“We will make jokes, so I’m going to fit along with what award shows do and make fun of the situation – but I’ll make fun of myself as well. We can do it in a good, fun way,” Bargatze told CNN in a recent interview. “I want the night to just be fun and silly and keep it moving. Let’s be exciting. And let’s be entertainment for the people at home watching. That’s what we are.”  –read more

ELLE | Ralph Lauren Kicks Off New York Fashion Week With Show At 650 Madison Avenue

There aren’t many designers that can gather the likes of Naomi Watts, Jessica Chastain, Mindy Kaling and Oprah Winfrey (yes, Oprah) in one room during fashion week. Ralph Lauren, however, is not just any designer. A real icon of American Fashion, he’s now approaching almost six decades in business, not a milestone to be stiffed at. And even now, 58 years on, he’s still at the forefront of the industry: just a few hours before his show, the CFDA announced Ralph Lauren on the shortlist for its womenswear designer of the year awards 2025 — an accolade he’s already won nine times  –read more

Oracle’s sudden AI stardom is giving 1999 energy | CNN Business

CNN Business | Oracle’s sudden AI stardom is giving 1999 energy

New York — Oracle, a large but generally sleepy cloud-computing company, just had an absolutely bonkers day on Wall Street.

The stock (ORCL) shot up more than 40% Wednesday morning, its largest single-day jump ever. It was such big leap that it minted Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison $100 billion in less than hour, making him the world’s richest person and bumping Elon Musk to second place.

The catalyst wasn’t a flashy product rollout or a surprise earnings beat — in fact, Oracle’s quarterly revenue and profit came in below Wall Street’s expectations Tuesday evening.

Instead, the fire came from Oracle’s outlook for the next few years, which, if it pans out, would cement the company as a power player in artificial intelligence. That’s a big “if,” though — especially given that the bulk of Oracle’s rosy outlook hinges on revenue from one major customer, the unprofitable OpenAI, according to the Wall Street Journal.  –read more
