(CNN) – A UPS driver was moved to tears after his customers in Pennsylvania showed their appreciation in a big way.

Chad Turns delivers for UPS in the small town of Dauphin, Pennsylvania, and is beloved by his customers, said resident Jenny Shickley. As seen in a video posted to Facebook by Adam Shickley, Jenny Shickley’s husband, when Turns drove into a parking lot for what he thought was a pick up on Tuesday, he was greeted instead by a dozen residents clapping and yelling, “Thank you, Chad!”

Turns was so overcome with emotion that he pulled out his handkerchief to wipe his eyes.  –read more—

New York (CNN Business) – Tesla is starting to lose market share among US buyers of electric vehicles, and Ford’s Mustang Mach-E appears to be the beneficiary.

Analysis by Morgan Stanley shows that Tesla’s share of the US EV market fell to 69% in February, down from 81% a year ago.

Tesla’s US sales are still climbing, according to this analysis, due to the increased appetite among US car buyers for electric vehicles. Morgan Stanley estimates that industrywide US EV sales rose 34% in February, compared to a year earlier, even as sales of traditional internal combustion engine vehicles fell by 5.4%, according to the analysis.  —read more—

The pandemic, now inthe beginning of its second year, has had a notable and unequal effect on Americans’ financial well-being.

While some people have lost jobs and income, others seem to be thriving. And the chances of falling into either camp vary by income, age, race or ethnicity and gender, according to findings from a new nationwide survey by the Pew Research Center.

For instance, 44% of those Pew surveyed said they or someone in their household experienced either a job loss or pay cut since February 2020. Among those who weremost likely to have experienced one or both of those earnings hits were lower-income adults (49%), young adults (61%), Hispanics (58%) and Asian Americans (54%).  –read more—

Burlington plans to open 100 new stores this year as it aims for 2,000 stores.

New York (CNN Business) – A record number of stores are closing across America. One discount clothing chain thinks it can step in to fill some of those vacancies.

Burlington Stores plans to open 100 new stores this year and sees an opportunity to reach 2,000 US stores in the future, the company said Thursday. Previously, Burlington (formerly known as Burlington Coat Factory) expected to build 1,000 stores. It currently has more than 750 outlets.

Burlington said in a news release that it was increasing its total store target because of the “opportunity presented by accelerating retail disruption and industry wide store closures.”  —read more—

New York (CNN Business) – Square, the financial payments firm run by Jack Dorsey, launched an in-house bank that it says will allow it to “operate more nimbly” in an increasingly crowded fintech market.

The firm announced Monday that the bank has begun operations after completing the charter approval process with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Utah Department of Financial Institutions. It will operate as an independently governed subsidiary of Square Inc (SQ). Dorsey is also the CEO and co-founder of Twitter (TWTR).The Salt Lake City, Utah-based Square Financial Services will provide business loans and deposit products to sellers who use its card reader and other point-of-sale services.  —read more—
