Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc won the Austrian Grand Prix over Red Bull’s Max Verstappen with Lewis Hamilton completing the podium for Mercedes – after Carlos Sainz retired.

Leclerc took the lead when the Sprint winner and championship leader Verstappen pitted on Lap 12. Leclerc pitted much later, on Lap 27, and retook the lead with a pass on Lap 37. With Sainz challenging Verstappen for P2, the Dutchman pitted again on Lap 37.  –read more–

(CNN) – Kerwin Webb said he knows the terror that young Black men experience when being pulled over by police.

Webb said tensions are often high and adrenaline is rushing because in too many cases, Black people have lost their lives during police encounters.

So he understands why Jayland Walker led Akron, Ohio, police on a car chase and then ran on foot before eight officers fired dozens of bullets at him. Walker suffered at least 60 gunshot wounds.  –read more

Max Verstappen won the F1 Sprint at the Red Bull Ring, beating the duelling Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, as he cruised to victory and secured a P1 start for Sunday’s Austrian Grand Prix.

Verstappen aced qualifying on Friday evening, in a session that saw both Mercedes crash out in Q3, after which Red Bull team mate Sergio Perez was bumped down to P13 on the grid for this Sprint. This new-for-2022 Sprint format awards points to the top eight instead of the top three.  –read more–

Pirelli have brought the softest compounds in their range to the Red Bull Ring for the 2022 Austrian Grand Prix and Sprint.

Teams will therefore have a choice of soft C5 (x8 sets) compounds, medium C4 (x3 sets) compounds and hard C3 (x2 sets) compounds over the three days of action this weekend, with qualifying on Friday evening before the 100km dash on Saturday.  –read more–

(CNN) – A British man’s overdose on vitamin D is a cautionary tale for people who are considering adding supplements to their lives, according to a paper published Tuesday in the journal BMJ Case Reports.

After a visit with a private nutritionist, the man began taking more than 20 over-the-counter supplements every day, including 50,000 international units (IU) of vitamin D three times a day. That’s a dose hundreds of times higher than standard nutritional recommendations.

Within a month, the man began suffering from nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea and repeated bouts of vomiting, along with cramping in the legs and ringing in the ears.  –read more–
