ESPN | As Alcaraz wins the US Open title, can anyone challenge the Big Two?

NEW YORK — Carlos Alcaraz threw his arms in the air, before a wide smile spread across his face and he crouched down on his knees. He had just won the 2025 US Open title, in front of a captivated crowd of 24,000 on Arthur Ashe Stadium. But his real celebration could wait.

Before anything else, he needed to hug and congratulate his opponent Jannik Sinner. The pair — fiercest of rivals on the court but genuine friends off of it — were all smiles and compliments as they met at the net. They then walked off the court with their arms wrapped over one another’s shoulders in a show of genuine admiration.  read more

CNN style | The most talked-about red carpet looks at MTV’s Video Music Awards 2025

The MTV Video Music Awards have a rich history of outlandish — and, at times, outright bizarre — fashion. Even without Lady Gaga’s meat dress or Britney Spears’ python, the annual ceremony is guaranteed to deliver over-the-top styling, playful accessories and tributes to icons of VMAs past.

Sunday night was no exception. From underwear-baring sheer gowns to throwbacks from the fashion archives, the event’s red carpet was, this year, fun and risqué in equal measure. Here are some of the most memorable looks from New York’s UBS Arena.  See the looks!

CNN travel | Three sisters posed for a photo on a beach in the 1980s. Over 40 years later they recreated it

Three young women are photographed, mid-laughter, on a beach. It’s a sunny day in the early 1980s. Their arms are wrapped around one another. They’re snacking on potato chips, stretching out on a plaid picnic blanket after a dip in the English Channel.

“Looking at the photograph, it really epitomizes who we are as sisters,” Pamela Cook tells CNN Travel today. “Us three. Laughing like that. It’s a photo I held onto for the longest time.”

Cook spent years telling her two sisters, Tracey Waygood and Elaine McCartney, that they should recreate the picture, which was taken on Castle Beach in Cornwall, in the southwest of England, sometime around 1980.  read more

Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani has died at the age of 91, the Armani Group announced on Thursday.

The designer is credited over his decades of practice with curating a quintessentially Italian aesthetic in his clothes, as well as taking Hollywood’s red carpets to new heights.

“Il Signor Armani, as he was always respectfully and admiringly called by employees and collaborators, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones,” the Armani Group said in a statement, describing the founder as “a tireless driving force.”

“In this company, we have always felt like part of a family,” read a statement provided by the brand on behalf of his family and employees. “Today, with deep emotion, we feel the void left by the one who founded and nurtured this family with vision, passion, and dedication. But it is precisely in his spirit that we, the employees and the family members who have always worked alongside Mr. Armani, commit to protecting what he built and to carrying his company forward in his memory, with respect, responsibility, and love.”  read more
