Lights Out; Turn 1

It's Lights Out! Notice how Hamilton has his car slightly angled towards Leclerc to get an advantage going down the long straight at Sochi before Turn 1.

Turn 1.

Going down to Turn 1.

The Ferraris that started in Positions 1 and 3 on Soft tires take the lead over the Mercedes-AMG cars that started on Mediums. The Ferrari strategy of having Vettel that started in Position 3 directly behind Leclerc that started on Pole take advantage of the hole that Leclerc's car would punch in the air.

The Ferraris are out in front on the Softs going into Turn 1.

The Race

Toto Wolff is all smiles after both drivers make The Podium for Mercedes-AMG.

It's Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-AMG, Ferrari.

Lewis Hamilton wins the FORMULA 1 RUSSIAN GRAND PRIX 2019 for Mercedes-AMG. It was his 2nd straignt win at Sochi and Mercedes-AMG's 5th straight win at the track.  No other team has won at Sochi.

Charles Leclerc gets congratulations for his 3rd place finish for Ferrari.

A photo op for the top three.

One of the hazards in Formula 1, as a Constructor, when you have 2 drivers on The Podium, is that you get blasted with champagne from 2 different angles.

Two wins in a row for Lewis Hamilton at Sochi. In both races he started in Position 2 (P2).
