It's a front row lockout for Mercedes.....again

The Mercedes-AMG Petronas team for the May 10-12 FORMULA 1 SPANISH GRAND PRIX 2019  have both drivers on the front row with Valtteri Bottas on pole and his teammate Lewis Hamilton, who started on the pole position for the last 3 Spanish Grand Prix, starting in 2nd position.  Ferrari and Red Bull share the 2nd and 3rd rows.

Tire Allocations
Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix 2019

P1; P2

Practice sessions in Barcelona today were all over the place.  Typically, this European session on the annual calendar is where the teams try out different set-ups and updates to their cars.  - more -

Tires for Barcelona

The Pirelli tire allocations for the FORMULA 1 SPANISH GRAND PRIX 2019 are:  (See chart.)

Red (C3) - Soft - Fastest
Yellow (C2) - Medium - 1.1 seconds per lap slower
White (C1)Hard - 1.8 seconds per lap slower

Most of the time a team will have the same number of sets of a certain rubber compound allocated to both team members.  For the 2019 Spanish Grand Prix some of the teams are doing things a little differently, i.e. note the differences in tire allocations for Mercedes-AMG's Hamilton and Bottas and Ferrari's Vettel and Leclerc.
