Verstappen wins second Austrian Grand Prix in a row

Finally, Formula 1 is back racing!  Mercedes-AMG's Valtteri Bottas, who started on Pole won the first race of the season in Austria with Ferrari's Charles Leclerc in 2nd and McLaren's Lando Norris in 3rd.

In the last third of the race, the Mercedes team started noticing unexplained issues with both of their cars that were running first (Valtteri Bottas) and second (Lewis Hamilton) and instructed both to drive between the white lines and stay off of the red and white shoulders of the track that drivers usually use as they are finding the apex of the turn and finding the proper 'racing line' to minimize any extra vibration that would be caused.  --more--


 

Mercedes say build-up of 'electrical noise' to blame for Austria issues as they search for a fix


It was all looking rosy for Mercedes as they ran comfortably one-two in the season-opening Austrian GP, that is until they encountered gearbox problems which forced them to tell both Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton to steer well clear of the Red Bull Ring’s tricky kerbs.
