On Sunday, Lewis HAMILTON won his 46th race at home at Silverstone for Mercedes AMG. The race was a very exciting race and we also had the normal continued drama that we’ve had in the last few weeks, from Mercedes AMG, glad to say we had no team touching incidents. Hamilton’s Mercedes AMG team member, Nico ROSBERG, who also made the podium coming in 2nd, Max VERSTAPPEN finished 3rd for Red Bull for his second podium in a row.
The race got started behind the pace car due to the rain so the first few laps were at a slower pace as the race was started on Full Wets (tires with groves and a rubber compound not good for dry tracks) and as the rain let up some, to hasten the fight to get things up to normal racing speeds, Scuderia Ferrari made a decision earlier than other teams to switch Sebastian VETTEL from Intermediates to Softs (soft tire compound) as a result before the track was completely dry VETTEL got a little loose in one of the turns, a signal to the other teams that the track was not dry enough yet and to stay out on the Intermediates.
