F1 | Gasly beats Sainz to maiden win in Monza , as Hamilton recovers to P7 after penalty

The race was turned on its head by a Safety Car brought out as Kevin Magnussen’s stricken Haas had to be recovered. But with Hamilton diving into the pit lane when it was closed (as did Alfa Romeo’s Antonio Giovinazzi), he was handed his penalty – which he served after the race was restarted on Lap 28 of 53, following a 25-minute red flag period after Charles Leclerc crashed heavily at the Parabolica.  --more--

Qualifying for Italy 2021

 

There was nothing to choose between Mercedes and Red Bull heading into the second qualifying session of the 2021 campaign, with both teams saying the other were favourites for P1 and playing down their own chances.

It was initially Valtteri Bottas who looked the most comfortable out on a track where he dominated all three segments of the one-hour shoot-out last time out at Imola, but he didn’t deliver in Q3 as his world champion team mate rose to the top of the pile with a brilliant first lap in qualifying.  --read more--

The Pirelli tire allocations for the FORMULA 1 ITALIAN GRAND PRIX 2021 are:  (See chart on left.)

Dry Weather
Red (C4) - Soft - Fastest
Yellow (C3) - Medium - .6 seconds per lap slower
White (C2) Hard - 1.0 seconds per lap slower
 

Wet  Weather
Green - Intermediates - Used when track conditions are wet and starting to dry
Blue - Full Wets - Used when it's actually raining

The 'Full Wets' (blue) can dissipate 85 liters/ 22.45462 gallons per second.  The Intermediates (green), used when the track is wet in some areas and dry in others, can dissipate 30 liters/ 7.92516 gallons per second.
